Beautiful Layered Curtains
If you want to decorating your windows, try layered curtains. Layered curtains look plush and serve as a multi-function window treatment. Layered curtains give greater versatility for both the form and function of a curtain. To start the layered curtains, always look at fabric swatches and finishes together before you choose your panels, sheers, blinds or other pieces, and if you can, look at them against the window you plan to install them on. This will give you the best idea as to how the textures and colors work together. Incorporate swags, valances or cornices to your layered curtains for an even more dramatic effect. When layering curtains, install one rod or set of brackets per layer for the most flexibility in arrangement. Install blinds, shades or shutters on the inside of the window frame if possible so that the curtains in front of the first layer don’t jut out awkwardly. Match rods to the decor in the rest of your home, taking note of the metal type used for light fixtures, door knobs and furniture pulls as a guide.
